Volunteer Opportunities

We have several events and volunteer needs throughout the school year. Below, you will find links to open volunteer sign-ups. If you have questions about any volunteer opportunities, please email chenowethpta@gmail.com.

ADOPT-A-SPOT: Chenoweth Outdoor Classroom/Garden

But we need YOUR HELP maintaining our Outdoor Classroom so our students can enjoy the space to read, play, and learn. We are asking Chenoweth families and community members to volunteer 1-3 hours a month and “Adopt A Spot” and “own” small sections of the space so the weeding, watering, planting, and trimming becomes a team effort.

Tasks can be completed on your own time in the evenings or on weekends. Sign up alone or with a friend and take turns. NOTE: If you choose to work during the school day, you will need to sign in at the office with your photo ID before you enter the garden. Guidance and instructions for accessing tools and supplies will be provided after you sign up.

2026 Charger Challenge

Volunteers are needed to help make the 2026 Charger Challenge fundraiser a success! Money raised helps provide classroom supplies, free family events, arts programming, campus improvements, and so much more for Chenoweth students and staff. This year’s Charger Challenge takes place September 14 – 25, and there are plenty of ways to help us reach our goal of raising $20,000.

Interested in helping? E-mail smiddlemansmith@gmail.com. Sign-ups for specific Charger Challenge events and activities coming soon!

Lunchroom Volunteers are needed each afternoon to assist with wiping tables, opening packages, sweeping, etc. When there is an extra set of hands and eyes in the lunchroom, the staff members and teachers that typically have to work in the lunchroom during that time are freed up so they can tend to other important tasks. Sign up for a 1-2 hour shift or make it a weekly or monthly occurrence! This is also a fun way to see and interact with your student and meet their friends at school. Learn more about how you can help in the lunchroom HERE.

Tree Watering

📅 Date: Every Saturday May-October 2026

Time: Varies

Thanks to a partnership with TreesLouisville and a generous donation from a community partner, a team of school and community volunteers planted 52 trees throughout the school grounds in March 2026. With this gift comes some responsibility on our part to keep the trees watered and healthy! This is a fun, flexible, and family-friendly weekend activity. If you have any questions please email ChenowethPTA@gmail.com or reach out to (CES parent/Tree Committee Chair) Matt Kinney at mdkinn01@gmail.com.
