Join the PTA
The Chenoweth Elementary PTA is a 100% volunteer-led organization. Join the PTA and help us support our school.
What is the PTA and what does it do?
The Chenoweth Elementary PTA is dedicated to promoting students’ social and emotional health, well-being, and educational success by collaborating with school administration, staff, volunteers, and community partners. The PTA provides support to students, families, and staff by organizing and funding materials, resources, and enriching activities that build a safe, fun, and inclusive school community.

What does it mean to be a PTA member?
- It means investing in and supporting your student’s potential.
- It means you are part of group with an action plan that is focused on programs and initiatives that strengthen your student’s education and the family-school-community partnership.
- It means that your involvement (at any level) allows the PTA to provide important resources to your student – inside and outside of the classroom.
- It means having a voice in school, local, state, and national decisions on issues and concerns facing our children.
- It means connecting with parents, caretakers, teachers, and others that advocate for their student, but for all students at Chenoweth Elementary.
Who can join the PTA?
Everyone can join the PTA! Membership is open to anyone who cares about the education, health, and welfare of children and those who support our mission. Parents, grandparents, foster parents, mentors, teachers, administrators, community members – all can join the PTA!
Are PTA members required to volunteer and attend meetings?
All PTA members are required to pay an annual $7 membership fee. These dues directly support your student and help fund essential school resources, curriculum needs, community-building programs, and more. Dues allow the Chenoweth Elementary PTA to strengthen connections between your family, your child’s classmates and their families, and teachers/staff to build a thriving and inclusive community for everyone.
Beyond that, however you choose to PTA is up to you!
The Chenoweth PTA hosts monthly meetings at the school and we encourage all members to attend in person or virtually. The PTA President, Executive Board members, and other PTA team members lead these meetings with the goal to update members on upcoming events and activities, discuss school news and policies, and educate members on a variety of topics relevant to our students and families. Meetings are an opportunity to meet and connect with other parents/caretakers, teachers, and staff, and learn about the variety of ways you can support the Chenoweth Elementary community.
Of course, volunteering is another BIG part of being a PTA member. Without the donated time from our members, we simply could not do any of the great stuff we do.
How much time do I have to commit to being a member of PTA?
Your level of commitment is whatever you want it to be! There is no wrong or right way to be involved – anything you can give, whether it’s time or money, will support your student’s success. Attend a meeting. Volunteer at an event. Lead a committee of volunteers to make something happen. Help raise money, vote on important decisions, make your voice heard – there’s a place for you on the Chenoweth Elementary PTA.
