New for 2025, the Chenoweth PTA is rebranding our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year: the Charger Challenge! This new fundraiser is a direct donations fundraising campaign run “in-house” meaning that when you donate the PTA keeps nearly 100% of your donation!
TOGETHER, WE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS!
We challenge ALL families in our community to help us meet our $25,000 goal so that we can fund our annual budget. This includes but is not limited to things like:
- Teacher/staff subsidies for classroom supplies
- Keeping our PTA community events like the Family Dance, Family Culture Showcase, & Talent Show FREE to our families
- Providing valuable arts programming to all grades (2x assemblies per year)
- Updates and maintenance to the building and grounds like rehabbing our Charger Horse statue, keeping our Outdoor Classroom in good condition, and hopefully working our way towards a new digital sign for the entrance!
We can’t do this without our entire community chipping in and sharing far and wide to ask for support.
Charger Challenge FAQs:
Why aren’t we using Apex anymore?
Apex Fundraising is an amazing company we have been proud to work with for several years. We could never be where we are as a PTA without their partnership. We are at a point with PTA leadership and involvement that we feel like we can manage a fundraiser ourselves “in-house” by simplifying the fundraising process and going to direct donations. Additionally, while the leadership lessons and obstacle course were loads of fun, they were extremely expensive and took away from important instructional time for our students. We are hoping to strike a balance of fun and excitement with the Charger Challenge with minimal classroom disruptions and minimal expense.
Additionally, having more control over the fundraiser allows us to focus on class and school incentives that ALL students can enjoy instead of having a large portion of donations go towards individual prizes.
What are the dates of the 2025 Fall Fundraiser?
The Charger Challenge runs from September 15 – 25.
Donations
How do I make a donation to this year’s Fall Fundraiser?
There are three ways to donate to the Charger Challenge.
- Online at www.givebacks.com/chargerchallenge2025
- Check – Checks should be made payable to: Chenoweth Elementary PTA
- Cash
Please place cash and check donations in a secure envelope and send them in with your student(s) in their Monday/daily folder from September 15 – 25. We will also be collecting cash in-person at school on Family-Teacher Conference Day on Wednesday, September 24th, 9:30am-2:00pm.
If I donate using cash or check, will my student’s class receive credit?
Yes, the PTA can link cash/check donations to a class. PTA volunteers will be tracking and inputting cash/check donations on the Givebacks donation page. Donations must be sent in with your student by Thursday, September 25 to be counted toward the classroom competitions. Online donations are preferred!
I have multiple students at Chenoweth. Can both receive credit for my online donation?
Yes! Families with multiple kids at the school, can add multiple donations to their cart and check out one time.
Do I need to sign up to donate and have my donation credited to my student’s class?
No. General donations can be credited to a class. Donors do not need to sign up or log in to make a donation.
We can’t afford to donate, can I still participate?
ABSOLUTELY! Share the donation page with friends and family and ask them for anything they can give to support our school. Also, no donation is too small. If every student is able to have $45 donated we can reach our goal. That is less than $10 from 5 friends or relatives. If everyone chips in, we can do this!
Incentives
Will there be an Obstacle Course this year?
No. As we reach each step towards our fundraising goal of $25,000 and meet fundraising challenges, we will be offering exciting school-wide experiential incentives. This keeps costs low, disruption to a minimum, and- we promise- it will still be LOTS of fun!
What are this year’s incentives?
There will be a combination of fun classroom and school-wide incentives to celebrate achievements along the way.
- Popcorn Party for the class with the first-day lead (9/15)
- Pizza Party for the top fundraising class in the first week (9/19)
- Donut & Pajama Party for the class that raises the most overall
- When we reach $15,000, Vice Principal Hall and Ms. Newman will take part in the Human Hamburger Challenge Other teachers and staff will help transform them into “human hamburgers” using ketchup and mustard during the school-wide meeting on Friday, September 26!
- When we reach $25,000, Ms. Burns will have a Principal Campout overnight in a tent outside the school! (Date TBD)
How can I volunteer to help?
There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer your time to support the Charger Challenge and PTA activities throughout the year!
